Installation

1. Install Suggest, Vote, Comment, Bribe as you would install a component in Joomla 1.5
2. In Component ⇒ Suggest Vote Comment Bribe click the Parameters button. Select your global settings and click the Save button.
   • User Restrictions — when CAPTCHA is required
     • Must be logged in (no CAPTCHA) — only users that are logged in may use the component.
     • Guests enter CAPTCHA — users that are not logged in must enter CAPTCHA for each submission to this component (except for Bribes) and users that are logged in do not enter CAPTCHA.
     • Everyone enters CAPTCHA — all users enter CAPTCHA for each submission to this component (except for Bribes).
     • Unrestricted — no users enter CAPTCHA for each submission to this component (except for Bribes).
   • Select columns to show — select none, some, or all of the columns that should be displayed.
   • reCaptcha theme — choose the reCAPTCHA theme to be used.
   • reCaptcha language — get from reCAPTCHA will use.
   • reCaptcha public key — get from reCAPTCHA.org
   • reCaptcha private key — get from reCAPTCHA.org
   • URL a.k.a bribe "thank you" URL — where to go after a donation is made
   • E-mail — email address to send the PayPal donation
   • Max title length — maximum number of characters in a suggestion title. Existing longer titles will be shortened
   • Max description length — maximum number of characters in a suggestion description. Existing longer descriptions will be shortened
3. Create a new menu item for Suggest Vote Comment Bribe by going to Suggest Vote Comment Bribe ⇒ Suggs → Default Layout, adding a title, choosing Parameters (Component) to override from the global configurations, and then saving the new menu item.

Usage

Users

• Add a new suggestion
  1. enter a title, description and possibly a CAPTCHA (make sure to copy your suggestion in case you enter the wrong CAPTCHA) for your suggestion
  2. click add
• View a suggestion
  1. When looking at a list of suggestions, click on a title of a suggestion
• Bribe — give the administrator money to consider your suggestion
  1. When viewing a suggestion, click the bribe link
  2. Complete the PayPal donation
• Comment — share your opinion about a suggestion
  1. When viewing a suggestion, click the comment link
  2. for your comment enter a title, description and possibly a CAPTCHA (make sure to copy your comment in case you enter the wrong CAPTCHA)
  3. click the submit button
• Vote — vote (up) a suggestion that you like
  1. When viewing a suggestion, click the vote link
  2. possibly enter a CAPTCHA and then click the vote button

Administrator

Suggestions

• New
  1. Click the new button on the top right of the screen.
  2. enter a title, description for your suggestion.
  3. click save button
• Edit
  1. Select a single suggestion by clicking the check-box
  2. Click the edit button in the top-right of the screen
  3. Make the desired changes
  4. click save button
• Delete
  1. Select a one or more suggestions by clicking the corresponding check-box(es)
  2. Click the delete button in the top-right of the screen
• Published
  By default, all suggestions are published (visible to all).
  • Click the green check-mark to turn it in to a red X. The suggestion is now un-published.
  • Click the red X to turn it in to a green check-mark. The suggestion is now published.
• State
  By default, all suggestions are open (able to be commented on, bribed, and voted upon).
  • Click the green check-mark to turn it in to a red X. The suggestion is now closed.
  • Click the red X to turn it in to a green check-mark. The suggestion is now open.

Comments

• Edit
  1. Select a single comment by clicking the check-box
  2. Click the edit button in the top-right of the screen
  3. Make the desired changes
  4. click save button
• Delete
  1. Select a one or more comment by clicking the corresponding check-box(es)
  2. Click the delete button in the top-right of the screen

Votes

The administrator can only view the total received for each suggestion. A list of who voted is visible by changing the setting to show users.

Bribes

The administrator can only view the total received for each suggestion. Detailed accounting can be performed through the assigned PayPal account.

Log

The administrator can view the total received for each suggestion.
